My harvest has come in

Galatians 6:7-9

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

A pastor at my church said something earlier in this year during a fleeting time of worship that was prophetic for me. “Lord, your harvest is coming in. For someone in this room, it will come in this year.” That was for me. And I cried and praised God for it. I was certain it meant that my promise of restoration was coming.

What it actually meant for me is heartbreaking, but Holy. My harvest did come in, before the year is finished. For 5 years, I sowed in the flesh. Now I am reaping that destruction. My marriage is over.

Thank you Lord though. Thank you for making me accountable for the things I did wrong. Thank you for not bypassing the bad and just pouring on the good. You promised me, when our sinful lifestyle began, that it would lead to the destruction of our marriage. I was stubborn. I ignored you. But Lord you were right and I will thank you and praise you for that. I know what this means. It means that you see me. It means that you don’t forget the promises that you have made to me. It means that my husband will reap this harvest too. It means that all the promises for blessing you have made in the future will certainly also come to pass. What I am reaping now, I sowed back then. And what I am sowing now, I will also reap in my future. A restored marriage. Our family put back together. A ministry. Hope and a future. Thank you Lord for remembering me and for allowing the grief that I sowed with my own hands to come back on me, because I know that the good seeds I have since planted will take root and pour over a blessing onto me and my husband and my children.

Deuteronomy 28:2

All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God.
