For this is what the Lord says— he who created the heavens, he is God; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited— he says: “I am the Lord, and there is no other.
I consider myself to be a pretty good person. I'm sure you do too. Most people on this earth, even though we sin, I'm sure would consider ourselves to be overall pretty good people. So it almost makes me laugh to call God good. Yes, totally He is good! But not by human standards is He good. No, He is God! He is CREATOR of good! He is ALL ENCOMPASSING good!
So, if I can understand that truth, that God is not just good, but Good. All Good. He Is! If God is good, why do I shake in doubt as a stander? Why do I even think for a moment that God is not good enough to save someone that I care about?
Beyond that, God is all powerful. Not just strong. Not just powerful. ALL POWERFUL. CREATOR! He Is! So if God is creator, strong, all powerful God and God is good, why do I doubt? Isn't God good enough to care about someone that I care about? Isn't it possible that the care I have is not even in close proximity to the care that He has? And the strength I have to pray and the plans I make to save are not even comparable to the strength and power of God to save?
Beyond that, God is the Word. He SPOKE and the world became. His word is greater then gold. His word is him. He is! So, if God's word is God, God would not deny his own self by not keeping the word He gives. He spoke. He said to stand. He said to pray. He said he is good. He said he would move. He said he would save. He is God and He will do as he promised to do.
To believe any less of God's goodness, His power, or His promise is to essentially believe that God is not God. As much good as I believe is in me, God is infinitely more. As much as I care and do what is in my power to do to save the ones I care for, God's infinitely stronger and more able. And as much as I care about the promise of salvation for my loved ones, God is the one who spoke this over my heart and infinitely more invested in their salvation. Our God is mighty to save.
And for those of you who live in shame, I want to remind you of this. God loved you so much that He sent his son to die for you. Don't discredit God. Jesus made the sacrifice, so that you could live free of sin and shame. Don't even imagine for a moment that your sin is greater then God. Your sin is not so powerful that Jesus blood could not cover it. Don't make yourself or your sin God. Jesus is God. He is! His blood, his sacrifice, was so powerful that it covered your sin. Don't discredit the sacrifice He made by living in the shame of your sin. You're covered. Accept his free gift that you don't deserve and spend your life praising Him and loving Him for it. He really is the best, the strongest, the word, the only. He is!
Isaiah 66:1-2
This is what the Lord says:
“Heaven is my throne,
and the earth is my footstool.
Where is the house you will build for me?
Where will my resting place be?
Has not my hand made all these things,
and so they came into being?”
declares the Lord.
“These are the ones I look on with favor:
those who are humble and contrite in spirit,
and who tremble at my word.
