No...It's not going to be the chaos and the storm that tears your family apart. It's going to be your reaction to the chaos and the storm.
Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
I was asked this question earlier in the week. "Is this thing going to destroy our family?" It broke my heart to hear the question and it made this strength rise up in me.
God didn't bring a storm into your life to destroy. He did it to strengthen you, to build you up, to bless you. But if you choose to submit to the storm and the chaos instead of to the Lord and His plans for you, yeah it will tear you apart. In fact any idol, anything that you give power and authority that is greater then God, certainly will!
Romans 8:31, 38-39
What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?...And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
But it's your decision. God knows you are able to walk through this with HIS strength. Don't shun Him! Take Him up on His offer. Get rid of anything that is holding you back from Him and follow Him.
Matthew 19:16-26 MSG
Another day, a man stopped Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” Jesus said, “Why do you question me about what’s good? God is the One who is good. If you want to enter the life of God, just do what he tells you.” The man asked, “What in particular?” Jesus said, “Don’t murder, don’t commit adultery, don’t steal, don’t lie, honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as you do yourself.” The young man said, “I’ve done all that. What’s left?” “If you want to give it all you’ve got,” Jesus replied, “go sell your possessions; give everything to the poor. All your wealth will then be in heaven. Then come follow me.” That was the last thing the young man expected to hear. And so, crestfallen, he walked away. He was holding on tight to a lot of things, and he couldn’t bear to let go. As he watched him go, Jesus told his disciples, “Do you have any idea how difficult it is for the rich to enter God’s kingdom? Let me tell you, it’s easier to gallop a camel through a needle’s eye than for the rich to enter God’s kingdom.” The disciples were staggered. “Then who has any chance at all?” Jesus looked hard at them and said, “No chance at all if you think you can pull it off yourself. Every chance in the world if you trust God to do it.”
